Visiting Toronto This Summer? Here’s What You Should Do

If you’re visiting Toronto this summer, which of course is my favorite city in Canada, then there are a ton of things to do. You don’t really need to rent a car, as most of these places to visit are fairly accessible–you won’t need to drive far.
Here’s what I recommend:

1. CN Tower: You can’t miss visiting this iconic landmark. The tower, which is one of the tallest in the world, offers panoramic views of the city and Lake Ontario. The more daring should check out the Edge Walk, a hands-free walk around the exterior ledge of the tower.

2. Royal Ontario Museum: A world-renowned museum that displays exhibits about art, culture, and nature from around the globe and ancient times to the present.

3. Ripley’s Aquarium: One of the three Ripley’s Aquariums, it houses over 16,000 amazing aquatic animals, and North America’s longest underwater viewing tunnel.

4. Distillery District: It’s a historic and entertainment precinct located east of downtown Toronto. It contains numerous cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries housed within heritage buildings.

5. St. Lawrence Market: Considered one of the best food markets in the world, the St. Lawrence Market is the perfect place to experience Toronto’s unique flavors.

6. Toronto Islands: Take a ferry to one of the Toronto Islands where you can kayak, canoe, bike or just relax on a beach.

7. Kensington Market: This bohemian neighborhood is filled with shops, restaurants, and bars, perfect for a chill afternoon.

8. Toronto Zoo: If you’re an animal lover, you will love this zoo, which is home to over 5000 animals, representing 450 species.

9. High Park: Toronto’s largest park features trails, sports facilities, a beautiful lakefront, a zoo, several playgrounds for children, an outdoor theatre, historic buildings, picnic areas, a few eateries and many other attractions.

10. Casa Loma: Visit this historic house museum and garden which was constructed as a castle and is now a popular tourist attraction.

11. Art Gallery of Ontario: Art lovers, don’t miss this extensive collection of works that range from the masterpieces of the European Old Masters to contemporary art.
